Before we get into the science, here’s what Mental
Health Map™ users are saying about their results:

I am confident that soon every patient, who is described as treatment resistant, will have genetic testing.  It is a simple and effective investigation and in my experience, with every single patient, it has facilitated effective management, enhanced the instillation of hope and saved lives.
Dr Andrew Macaulay, MD, MSc., MRCPsychConsultant Psychiatrist
Myogenes offers an excellent selection of genetic tests, which I use frequently. The results from each test not only assist me as the patients’ doctor but also helps the patient significantly. The results take away the trial and error of prescribing and instead personalises the patients’ medication – putting patient care at the forefront and saving time and costs. Using these tests should be standard protocol.
Dr Benjamin Akande
I can’t recommend Myogenes for an event highly enough. The BRCA gene is unfortunately still a taboo subject, and Clare, Jess and Dahlia opened up a discussion to inform and equip everyone with helpful and practical information. They gave so much time, care and attention to every question they were asked, ensuring that the audience went away with the knowledge they needed, without making a conversation of this kind uncomfortable or upsetting. This should be information that’s readily available and widespread, having Myogenes hold a talk isn’t something to think about, it’s something you simply cannot do without. Please spread the word and make sure your community have the knowledge they need.

Whilst I strongly advocate a holistic mind-body approach to treating all psychiatric conditions, there has been no stronger indicator of how my patients will process their medication than their pharmacodynamic/pharmacokinetic profile.
In addition to a detailed pharmacogenetic profile report, Myogenes’ USP is access to pharmacogenetic experts, with whom I able to discuss every patient report and profile in detail. There is no doubt that this has significantly benefitted patients who have taken the test. For some, it has also been a key factor in their recovery.
Dr Wayne Kampers
Dr Wayne KampersConsultant Psychiatrist
The Myogenes pharmacogenomic psychiatric genetic test has allowed my pharmacological management of patients to be much more targeted. Patients find it very reassuring particularly the insights which extend beyond simple prescribing to exercise and non-prescription treatments such as l-methyl folate. The results are impressive and along with other established treatment strategies have resulted in overall better outcomes for my patients.

A Heritage of Mental
Health Leadership

For over a decade, Genomind has provided mental health genetic insights for over a quarter million patients. Our founders are world-renowned clinicians and scientists committed to compassionate care and psychiatric innovation. We seek to bring new awareness and insights to the world of mental health.

Our experts have first-hand experience with real-world mental health cases, having consulted with and educated tens of thousands of clinicians and patients.

These years of experience guided the selection of our 7 Core Capabilities™ and the traits that tend to be most concerning for people. Our evidence summary is openly available, and our scoring of gene-trait pairs is public and transparent.

Our Science

The Mental Health Map is a concise, easy to use source for the world’s collective knowledge on genes related to mental wellbeing. We expertly curated hundreds of the world’s genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and candidate gene studies to provide the framework and content for the Mental Health Map™ and the 7 Core Genetic Mental Health Capabilities™.

Our evidence summary is openly available, and our scoring of gene-trait pairs is public and transparent. One common source of this GWAS information is the UK BioBank, which maintains de-identified health information on about 500,000 individuals (mostly of European descent). Much of this information is publicly catalogued via the
NIH GWAS Catalog.

Other sources of information include candidate gene studies. For example, studies that hypothesized that genes related to certain biological mechanisms would likely affect traits related to that mechanism. For example, if oxytocin is related to social connections, then the oxytocin receptor gene (OXTR) should affect social evidence. Many of the recommendations included on this product are those of various public health authorities, such as the U.S. National Institute of Health and the Food and Drug Administration.

A complete evidence summary review document, with references, is available upon request.
