During my 19 years of practising in mental health I have the experience of assessing, diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of conditions. I have worked in the NHS as a consultant in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea since 2009 and then moving onto West London Mental Health Trust until 2017. I led a ‘Crisis’ Team and liaison service, an Assertive Outreach Team specialising in psychosis and latterly a Recovery Community Team. I know practice privately.
I am very privileged to be able to form close relationships with my clients and use a collaborative approach to addressing their mental health needs. I offer treatment, which is evidence-based in the first instance, but also empathic and negotiable. I have access to extensive psychotherapeutic interventions as well as pharmacological if needed. Myogenes has enabled me to provide a novel investigation to provide insight into which treatments may be more suitable than others. Clients have found it very helpful.
I aim to incorporate a traditional approach of identifying biological, psychological and social aspects but also endeavour to treat holistically. This may encompass complementary therapies if so appropriate.
I enjoy pilates, and the Arts and take a keen interest in alternative therapies including nutritional techniques.
